Fundamental training program process
Step 1. Evaluation
After submitting a request a member of our team will reach out to discuss your dog, their needs, and what you hope to get out of training. If you decide the private dog training is right for your pack, we’ll schedule your first appointment
Step 2. Private dog training sessions
- Foundation: We’ll begin with engagement, trust, and focus building and start obedience and socialization in this stage.
- Focus: While we finish obedience work and continue socialization, we’ll also take on off-leash work.
- Finishing: We’re ready for distraction training while we continue socialization. Think of this stage as polishing the work we’ve been doing so your dog comes home ready to create stronger habits with you.
- Habit-forming: Habits are formed and solidified in this stage. The longer the training period, the stronger the habits will be.
Step 3. Follow up support
After your private training session, we’ll follow up to check on your dog’s training journey. Future private training sessions are important to continue your dog’s training journey.
The transition period
There’s a period we call the “transition period” where your dog will remember their former relationships—and what behavior was allowed. It’s a normal, instinctive, and subconscious process for dogs to test their owners to see if they’re strong pack leaders. It’s important to follow all of your training protocols to ensure your transition period goes smoothly.
