How Long Does Board and Train Take?

By Chad Singer, Canine Revolution Dog Training

Here’s the honest answer most trainers won’t give you: a two-week board and train is a red flag, and a one-week program is worse. Anything under four weeks is typically not ideal.

We run a six-week program, and that’s the one we recommend. Six weeks gives us time to do the work in the right order. First we build relationship, engagement, and eye contact, the foundation everything else sits on. Then we build the training itself. Then we proof it with generalization, distraction work, and socialization, so your dog answers you in the real world and not just in a quiet yard.

We also run a four-week program, which is a good fit for some dogs, and custom programs built around the dog and your goals.

Ask any trainer why their program is the length it is. Here’s why our board and train runs six weeks.
