North Charleston Dog Training | Real-World Obedience in a Busy City
From Park Circle patios to the Greenway, the North Rhett corridor to Riverfront Park — your dog should be able to handle all of it without dragging you through it.
Your Dog Doesn't Have a Training Problem. It Has a Distraction Problem.
North Charleston is not a quiet place to own a dog. Traffic on Rivers and Ashley Phosphate, foot traffic in Olde Village, other dogs on every stretch of the Greenway, planes overhead near the base. A dog that listens in your kitchen and falls apart on East Montague hasn’t failed — it was never taught to work under that kind of pressure. That’s the entire job of our Board & Train program.
Lowcountry Roots, High-Level Discipline. As Citadel Alumni, US Navy Veteran, and Prior Law Enforcement, we built The Canine Revolution Academy on the principles of consistency, leadership, and respect. We don’t use guesswork; we use proven methods honed by years of training dogs. When you trust us with your dog, you are hiring a professional standard of care that “hobby trainers” simply can’t match.
Award-Winning Dog Training in the Charleston Lowcountry
Canine Revolution Dog Training was voted Best Dog Trainer 2026 in the Summerville Journal Scene Readers’ Choice Awards, named Best of Mount Pleasant by Mount Pleasant Magazine readers in 2023, and selected as a finalist in The Post and Courier’s Charleston’s Choice 2026 Dog Training category. All three are decided by public vote.
From Our Dorchester Academy to Your North Charleston Doorstep
Getting your dog to us should not be the hard part. We run pickup and drop-off for North Charleston at no charge — Park Circle, Northwoods, Pepperhill, Liberty Hill, Coosaw Creek, the whole Ashley Phosphate and Rivers Avenue corridor. Your dog rides out to our 20-acre academy in Dorchester and comes home trained. You keep your work schedule.
The Three Pillars of Success
Professional Concierge Logistics
We pick your dog up in North Charleston and handle the drive both ways. Park Circle, Northwoods, Ashley Phosphate, Coosaw Creek — you don't rearrange your work week to get training started.
Immersive 20-Acre Academy
Your dog trains on 20 fenced acres instead of a living room or a back yard off Dorchester Road. Space to work, space to decompress, and a curriculum running from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
Reliable Public Access Integration
The goal isn't obedience in an empty room. It's a dog you can walk down East Montague, take to the Greenway, and sit with on a patio while people and dogs move past.

We provide a structured path for every owner, ensuring your training matches your lifestyle goals.

The Academy: Complete Transformation Immersion
Our Premier Training Standard.
Six weeks is our standard program and it is what we recommend. The first stretch is relationship, engagement and eye contact — without that, commands are just noise. Then we build the obedience. Then we proof it in the environments that actually break dogs: crowds, other dogs, traffic, distraction. Four-week and custom lengths are available when the dog and your goals call for it.
Prices starting at $4,726
One-on-One Coaching: Personalized Private Lessons
Professional Guidance for the Hands-On Owner.
Some owners want to do the work themselves, and that is a legitimate choice. Private coaching puts you on the leash with a professional next to you, working the specific problem in the environment where it happens — your street in Wando Woods, the sidewalk on East Montague, your own front door when the bell rings.
Prices starting at $400 per session
Puppy Foundations: The Best Start for Your New Companion
Building Confidence from Day One.
Designed for puppies between 8 to 16 weeks of age, this program focuses on building a strong bond and healthy engagement. We help you raise a confident, neutral dog from the start. Once a dog surpasses 16 weeks, we recommend transitioning to our immersion programs at the Academy for advanced reliability.
Prices starting at $400 per session
Trusted by North Charleston Dog Owners
North Charleston owners come to us with the same short list: a dog that pulls so hard the walk stopped being worth it, a dog that loses its mind at the sight of another dog, a dog that is fine at home and impossible anywhere else. We are 1,000+ graduates in, 371 five-star Google reviews deep, and veteran-owned. The families sending us dogs from Park Circle and Northwoods are not gambling on us — they are hiring a standard.

The Academy Standard: Professional Oversight & Results
We don’t “wing it”; we follow a methodical training progression that has served thousands of dogs. Our process focuses on clear communication and building a bond based on mutual respect.
Conditioning Clear Markers
We use precise communication to pinpoint exact moments of success, making it easy for your dog to learn what is expected of them.
Engagement-Based Focus
A dog that wants to check in with you is a dog that will listen on Rivers Avenue with a truck going by. We build that engagement first and everything else gets easier.
Reliable Proofing
We ensure behaviors are proofed in multiple environments before your dog returns home, ensuring the habits stick.
Specialized Support for "Tough Cases"
If your dog is displaying reactivity, anxiety, or lunging on the leash, they aren’t being spiteful—they are simply overwhelmed by their environment. We are the final authority for behavior modification in the Lowcountry.
Exclusive Alumni Boarding: A Sanctuary for Graduates
Graduates come back. Once your dog has been through our program, our campus is somewhere it already knows — the same staff, the same structure, the same routine. For North Charleston families traveling out of Charleston International, that is a meaningfully different experience than a kennel your dog has never seen.
Join the Revolution: Train with Us
It doesn’t matter if you’re dealing with obedience challenges, anxiety, or other unwanted behavior.
We have a wide variety of programs available to suit your needs.
We Wrote The Manual on Leash Training
Don’t just walk your dog—lead them. The Ultimate Leash Training Manual breaks down our proven 5-step system to stop pulling, build engagement, and master the walk. It’s the exact biological fulfillment method we use with every dog in our program.
Client Testimonials
The whole process from start to finish is easy and seamless. Follow up sessions have been detailed and a clear priority of this team of trainers also. The post training option to board and return for continued education is a bonus.
Can’t recommend enough!”
The updated videos each week assured me he was happy, healthy, and making progress in his training. The follow up visits were amazing and helped me ask questions and ask for help on my specific issues.
The boarding and training is worth every penny! I enjoy walking, drills, hiking, bike riding, kayak trips and eating out with my dog so much more now that he is trained.”
If you’re looking for a training program that truly sets your dog up for success, this is the one.
Thank you, Danny and the entire Canine Revolution team, for giving our dog Charlotte (and us!) the tools for a brighter, more balanced future!”
Our dog, Roxy, struggled with anxiety and high energy, which made traveling and new situations stressful for both of us. However, after putting Roxy through the Canine Revolution Dog Training program, we have a completely different dog!”
Before You Decide
Most North Charleston owners land on the same three questions before they book. Here they are, answered straight.
"Is It Worth the Investment?"
Board & Train starts at $4,726 and that is real money. Here is the honest math: you are paying for six weeks of professional work on a dog you will own for another decade. Owners who wait usually spend the money anyway — on a trainer that didn’t stick, on replaced furniture, on a fence, on a behaviorist after a bite. The most common thing we hear at pickup is that they wish they had started sooner.
"I Just Adopted a Rescue — Is Board & Train Fair to Them?"
It is fair to them, and for a lot of rescues it is the kindest thing available. A dog that came out of a shelter is usually carrying stress, not defiance. Structure, a predictable routine and clear communication are what bring a rescue down off that edge. We are not breaking a dog’s spirit — we are giving it a job and a leader so it can stop guessing.
"I Don't Want to Wait — Another Trainer Has Availability Now"
Then take the availability, if the trainer is good. We would rather you get help now than wait on us. But ask them what happens when they have a family emergency mid-program, how many staff are on site, and what the dog does for the other fourteen hours of the day. Availability today is worth very little if the program behind it is one person and a spare bedroom.
Stop Paying for "Warehousing."
Most board-and-trains are just expensive kennels. We are an educational institution.

Your Dog Needs an Education, Not a Sleepover.
Why a Professional Campus Beats the "Home-Based" Model.
Many owners are tempted by trainers who work out of their personal homes because it feels “cozier.” But true training and / or rehabilitation requires a controlled environment, not a living room. Why invest in a sleepover for your dog when you are sending them to training for real education?
In a home-based program, your dog is often just “tagging along” with the trainer’s daily life—watching TV, running errands, or mixing dangerously with other dogs in a backyard. At Canine Revolution, your dog enters a focused academic environment. We remove the variables, ensure strict safety protocols, and maximize learning time that systematically progresses with your dog’s development..
Safety & Security
Homes have accidents; we have protocols. Home-Based Trainers are a single point of failure- if they have an emergency, your dog is stranded. We combine our secure campus with a 20+ professional team to ensure your dog is never unsupervised or vulnerable.
Curriculum vs. Chores
Home trainers are often distracted by laundry, kids, their own dogs, cooking, etc. Our staff is on the clock—your dog receives 100% of our professional focus the entire time, not just passive supervision from the couch.
Structured Socialization
A living room can create anxiety and excitement, not skills. That doesn't maximize your training investment. We use structured pack walks to teach your dog neutrality and calmness around other dogs.

The most common feedback we hear from clients? They can’t believe they didn’t get started sooner.
You don’t drive. Pickup and drop-off is complimentary for North Charleston — we collect your dog and bring them home. For owners who want to see where their dog will live for six weeks, and most do, the 20-acre campus is about 40 minutes out in Dorchester and you are welcome any time.
FAQs
Yes. North Charleston is one of our core service areas, and pickup and drop-off is complimentary — Park Circle, Northwoods, Pepperhill, Liberty Hill, Olde Village, Coosaw Creek, Ingleside and the full Ashley Phosphate and Rivers Avenue corridor. Training happens at our 20-acre academy in Dorchester.
No. Pickup and drop-off is complimentary for North Charleston, so most owners never make the drive. If you want to tour the campus first — and we encourage it — it is roughly 40 minutes from North Charleston.
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons North Charleston owners call us. Pulling is not stubbornness — it is a dog that has never been taught what walking beside you actually means. We fix the behavior on campus and then proof it around bikes, joggers, other dogs and traffic so it holds up on the Greenway and not just in your driveway.
That is core work for us. Leash reactivity in a place like Olde Village is usually a dog that is overwhelmed rather than aggressive, and the fix is structured exposure at a distance the dog can actually handle, closed slowly. Our pack walks are built for exactly this — teaching neutrality around other dogs instead of avoidance.
That is the standard we train to. A solid place command and real neutrality around people and dogs is what makes a patio in Park Circle or a table at the Firefly grounds possible. It is the difference between a dog that tolerates being out and a dog you actually want to bring.
Six weeks is our standard and it is what we recommend. Four weeks is available and a good fit for some dogs, and custom lengths depend on your dog and your goals. Be careful with anyone selling you a two-week board and train — that is not enough time to build a relationship, teach the behavior and proof it, and we will tell you so plainly.
A puppy needs to have completed its vaccinations before it comes to campus — typically around 16 to 17 weeks. Before that, our Puppy Foundations program covers 8 to 16 weeks and focuses on engagement and confidence. Adult dogs have no age cutoff; we have turned around dogs well into their senior years.
It has to, or it is not real training. Aircraft overhead, trucks on the North Rhett corridor and rail noise are part of daily life in North Charleston, and a dog that only listens in quiet has not been proofed. We deliberately work dogs under distraction and noise before they go home.
It means we use all four quadrants of operant conditioning rather than tying one hand behind our back. A purely positive-only trainer and an e-collar-only trainer are making the same mistake from opposite directions — both have thrown away tools the dog could have learned from. We use what the dog in front of us actually needs.
You get the turnover, and it matters as much as the training. The dog learned to work for our staff; now it has to work for you. We hand off the commands, the timing and the structure so the training survives contact with your household instead of unravelling in the first week.
Proximity is the one thing a home-based trainer has on us, and we handle it by driving to you. What they cannot match is 20 fenced acres, a 20+ person professional staff, a 15-hour structured day, and a single point of failure that does not exist — if one of our trainers has an emergency, your dog’s program does not stop.
