The Hybrid Model: Home First, Academy Second
Puppies between 8 weeks and 4 months are vulnerable. To protect their developing immune systems, we start training in the safety of your home. Once fully vaccinated, they ‘graduate’ to our Academy for real-world immersion.
- 🏠Stage 1: Initial Training (8wks – 4mo): We come to you. We focus on potty training, crate conditioning, and ending the nipping—all while keeping your puppy safe from viruses before they are fully vaccinated.
âś… The Vaccination Milestone: Once your vet clears them for travel, the real adventure begins. We transition from ‘Management’ to ‘Advanced Obedience’.
🎓 Stage 2: The Academy Graduation: Your puppy enters our Board & Train program to socialize with balanced dogs and learn Off-Leash Reliability at our private retreat.
The Puppy Development Timeline
Step 1: In-Home Management
We start immediately in your home. We set up your crate, establish the potty routine, and stop the nipping before it becomes a habit.
Step 2: Engagement & Socialization
We teach you how to build drive and focus. Your puppy learns that 'Work = Fun,' creating a dog that wants to listen to you.
Step 3: The 'Big School' Transition
Once vaccinations are complete, your puppy is eligible for our Board & Train Academy to master Off-Leash Reliability and real-world freedom.

Immediately! In fact, the sooner the better. We start with in-home sessions at 8 weeks old to build the foundation before bad habits set in. Once fully vaccinated (around 16 weeks), they are eligible for our Academy.
For puppies, like all dogs we train, we use a Reward-Based Engagement System. We use food and play to shape behavior, build confidence, and teach them that ‘Listening = Fun.’ We focus on luring and marking to install the behaviors before adding any pressure.
We use a Hybrid Model. Phase 1 happens in your home (where the potty/crate issues are). Phase 2 happens at our Academy (for socialization and off-leash freedom) once they are old enough and vaccinated.
This immersion is perfect for puppies and adult dogs alike.
For younger dogs, we focus on “future-proofing”—building confidence, social neutrality, and engagement before bad habits ever have a chance to set in.

Yes. That is exactly why we start In-Home. Our trainers come to you, so your puppy isn’t exposed to public germs until their immune system is ready. We bridge the gap between ‘safety’ and ‘socialization’.
Likely not! We call this the ‘Land Shark’ phase. It is normal, but it needs to be stopped quickly. We teach you how to redirect that energy so you can enjoy your puppy again without the band-aids.
We strongly advise against it. The ‘Critical Imprinting Period’ for socialization closes around 16 weeks. Behaviors learned now—good or bad—tend to stick for life. It is much easier (and cheaper) to build a ‘Dream Dog’ now than to fix a ‘Problem Dog’ later.
It depends on consistency, but with the schedule we build for you in Session 1, most owners see a massive reduction in accidents within 7-10 days. We remove the guesswork so you can stop cleaning up messes.
